We had a post in April that explained why we wanted to adopt, but somehow it has been accidently deleted so I will add it again for people who may be new to reading our blog.
Steve and I have had a unique path to our adoption journey, in the sense that we never anticipated doing this. We have a beautiful son from Steve's first marriage, Hunter. We love him and he provides great joy to our life. We also had a son together named Ethan. Ethan passed away at 5 mos of age at his daycare, from what we belive to be SIDS. We had tried some infertility treatments, but they did not work and we didn't want to continue down that road. Therfore, we decided to take a different journey-that of adoption.
We are excited to choose Ethiopia as our country for many reasons. The need there is great, most people there suffer from hardships that in the US we cannot imagine. We also want to parent again. Lastly, in the Minneapolis area there is a large Ethiopian community and we feel we can help our child remain attached to her culture.
We look forward to embarking on this journey with Lutheran Social Services, Adoption Advocates (WA) and our family and friends.

Awesome Michelle! Can you tell me again what you have requested? I can't remember! Congrats on sending your I-600A as well! We aren't allowed to send ours in until we have a notarized copy of our home study to attach (here in Mo), so we'll have to wait another week or two to get that done...but we're anxious to have that step out of the way!
